I am Sally welcome to Sally's Childcare page. 

I have been a Professional Registered Childminder since June 2000.

Being a Registered Childminders means that I have taken to relevent training over the years since I started. I have a Diploma in Home-Based Childcare. DBS CHecked, along with all members of my family living on the premises, am Fist Aid trained, Basic Food Hygiene, Special Educational Needs training, CAF/MASH briefing, Child Protection & Safeguarding, Maths briefing for under 5's, Portage briefing through the Community Childminding System. These are just some of the listed training I have done over the 15 years of Childminding. I am committed to my training and keeping myself up to date with all new changes by the Government. I am registered to take the govenrmanet funding for all 2, 3, & 4 Year olds. For 15 - 30 hours a week. I am able to take the funding for disadvantaged children from 2 yrs plus. 

Some of the public believe that we are there to look after children as a babysitter, they are wrong. As a childminder we are trained to a high standard along side all Nursery Staff. We are Inspected by OFSTED and checked by the Local Authority. All children are cared for in a safe and welcoming evnvironment just like all schools and nurseries. We have a framework that we work to, which help us to help the child achieve to their full potental. We follow the Early Year Foundation Stage Framework.

We have a play area for the children outside with a climbing frame and swings to explore. The garden is secure from anyone wandering around from the front of the property. A gate is kept locked at all times and a key is kept inside the house away from the children.

Over the years I have cared for a number of children of various ages and abilities. I have seen children grow through their years from pre-school to secondary school. Some families have moved overseas and we love to keep in contact with their progress within new schools and countries.

We love animals in our setting. We have 2 cats, Pixie & Badger. They are friendly towards to children, but do like to keep themselves to themselves. The children are only allowed to have access to the cats under my control, as animals can be unpredicatable. My daughter and I also have horses, which are kept on a private livery yard shared with a friend. I like to take the children with me to see horses. I have a strict risk assessment for when we are up at the yard. Children are not allowed access to run about freely and unsupervised at anytime of the day. The little ones love meeting and greeting the horses, and love to feed them a treat or a carrot at times. While there the children are with me, they get to visit a variety of people. such as a farrier, horse vet, horse dentists etc. They get to experience different job roles that they wouldn't normally see unless they have horses or access to them themselves. 

 We reguarly visit a local soft play and play groups within the town. We meet up reguarly with other childminders and their children.
